3 Common Questions to an Expat in Khao Lak

Updated: 3 days ago

Hello! Your friendly Khao Lak expert is here to answer three of the questions I get asked most often by travelers. Why? To make sure you’re well-informed before your trip. Ready? Let’s go!

Questions
Questions to the Expat

1. Was it a good decision to leave Germany and settle here?

A very good question – my answer is about 80% “Yes” and 20% “No. ”Pros: Life here is much simpler. People are often more patient, open, and relaxed. Even after more than 20 years abroad, it’s still exciting to live and work in a different culture. Cons: I sometimes miss the four seasons. That feeling of looking forward to spring, summer, autumn, and winter doesn’t really exist here. That’s why I like to visit Germany now and then, breathe in the winter air or take a walk through autumn forests.

2. Do you have an office in Khao Lak where I can visit you?

My official business address is my home, where I have a dedicated office. You are always welcome there by appointment. Thanks to my mobility, I’m also happy to meet you directly at your hotel for consultations or tour bookings. This way you save valuable vacation time. And via WhatsApp & Co., we’re connected 24/7 anyway.

3. Do you also join the excursions yourself?

Usually not. I only rarely accompany the tours myself, even though I sometimes would love to. The excursions are led by knowledgeable, mostly local guides. My role is to give you careful advice and present you with the best options.

I hope these insights answered some of your questions to an expat. I’m really looking forward to welcoming you soon in Khao Lak!

Best regards,

Stephan Werner
